Position Description:
The Assistant Director of Organizational Performance for Housing and Hospitality Services (H&HS) is responsible for leading organizational development and performance initiatives and overseeing, deploying, and assessing, H&HS' quality assurance and service improvement programs; organizational development; leadership and staff development; and centrally coordinated employee training programs that facilitate improved organizational performance. This includes: diversity and inclusion initiatives, employee engagement initiatives, manager/supervisor training programs, the departmental Mentoring Program, H&HS new team member onboarding which includes the AVC Welcome, leadership development, compliance training, community volunteer initiatives, language development programs and digital literacy programs. Oversees the documentation of department-wide standard operating procedures, quality assurance audit program, and implementation of unit level guest service training.

This position drives long-term business success by overseeing performance improvement and learning strategies that support the organization's strategic direction, promotes continuous improvement, and partners with campus leadership, internal senior leadership and stakeholders to ensure team members are training on the needed skills to successfully perform according to the organization's service excellence standards, maintain industry competitiveness, and facilitate the overall professional development and continuous learning of staff, supervisors and emerging leaders. The Assistant Director provides customized quality improvement and training solutions for 10 H&HS units, and is responsible for developing and oversee systems and processes to track metrics for 2,700 team members and their respective training and development participation and ensure mandatory trainings are completed in order to evaluate programs for effectiveness and process improvement. In addition this position supervises, provides direction and guidance to the Process Improvement Manager and Training Analyst. Works collaboratively to support and lead succession planning and organizational development initiatives.

UCLA Housing & Hospitality Services (H&HS) operates all on- and off- campus university-owned housing complexes incorporating almost 10 million gross square feet, generating approximately $240M in annual revenues. In addition. H&HS is responsible for UCLA Guest House, UCLA Conference Center and Bruin Woods Family Resort at Lake Arrowhead, the newly opened 254-room UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center, UCLA Food and Beverage Services, UCLA Vending Services, UCLA Catering, and other supporting departments which include H&HS IT Services, Housing Services, and the Housing Business Office.
