Global Community Manager, NBA All World

At Niantic, we strive to develop products and programs that bring people together in the real world. As an extension of this, Community Managers at Niantic spend their time thinking about not only how to keep our digital communities active and engaged, but also advocating for and supporting local, real world community building efforts. In this role, you'll work closely with the NBA All-World product and marketing teams to develop strategies that help build a community of players around their love for NBA All-World and basketball culture.
We're looking for a hoop fan whose passion for basketball is only matched by their drive to authentically connect with people online and in person. Responsibilities


  • Represent the voice of NBA All-World players in meetings with cross-functional partners of varying levels and job functions.
  • Act as an on-camera host for various interviews, live streams, and activations.
  • Regularly engage with players in both online and offline settings.
  • Measure, monitor, and build detailed qualitative and quantitative sentiment reports identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify, support, and act as a point of contact for community content creators, fan sites, event organizers, talent and other influential members of the community to capture feedback and build compelling content.
  • Develop initiatives that encourage real-world social interactions around the product.
  • Work with internal and external partners to generate high-quality blog and social media content.
  • Represent the NBA All-World team at events.

    Qualifications

    • Strong familiarity and knowledge of all aspects of the NBA, its players, and hoop culture, as well as popular gaming communities.
    • High comfortability in front of a camera with experience interviewing, hosting, and interacting with diverse groups of individuals.
    • Deep, demonstrated experience in online and in-person community building, community tools (e.g. Discord, Facebook Groups, etc.), and social media methodologies.
    • Hands on experience with brand communications, community management, and social media channel management.
    • Experience in community relationship building, partnerships/collaborations, and talent management.
    • Strategic problem solver with strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms (e.g. Twitter, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.) and how they can be used to achieve business goals.
    • Strong written communications and editorial skills.
    • Able to make critical decisions independently under time constraints and a full workload.
    • Able to work long hours and weekends when needed.
    • Able to travel, including internationally.
