Assistant Director, Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management ProgramUSC Marshall School of BusinessData Sciences and Operations DepartmentThe Master of Science in Global Supply Chain Management program office is seeking an outstanding, organized, collaborative, and detail-orientated candidate to join the MS GSCM team. The Assistant Director will be assisting the Associate Director for recruitment, admissions, academic advisement, event planning, program management, and all related functions for the MS GSCM program. The MS GSCM program is committed to transformative learning, a culture of inclusion, collegiality, cooperation, and teamwork.The Assistant Director will be actively involved with the day-to-day operations for admissions and academic advisement. From admitting high-caliber students each fall in alignment with quantitative and qualitative success metrics established for the admissions cycle to advising a student caseload in the on-campus and online program, the candidate will support students in a range of services in their academic journeys, collaborate with the Randall R. Kendrick Institute with their departmental initiatives, and join a prestigious network. The general responsibilities/duties aligned with this position are as follows.Responsibilities and Duties

  • Advise prospective students on admissions, financial aid, housing, and academic requirements.
  • Manage the admissions tracking report including processing applications and applying admissions decisions.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of student recruitment strategies. Develop awareness of the MS GSCM program by effectively communicating its benefits to potential students and employers by holding information sessions to inform prospective students of the program to advance their careers in finance.
  • Develop initiatives to build the prospective student pipeline and increase application pool to meet enrollment target numbers each year.
  • Manage a student caseload by providing academic counseling for graduate students (both domestic and international students). Advise on matters of curriculum, course and degree requirements, transfer credit, academic probation, and graduation.
  • Evaluate student problems, academic, administrative or personal, and refer student to appropriate student services office for additional counseling. Assist with university petitions.
  • Maintain student records and coordinate registration activities, degree progress, enrollment, and degree verification.
  • Assisting with the planning and coordinating student events including commencement, orientation, networking events, recruitment events, and receptions.
  • Be available to travel for work including the week-long experiential trips potentially to Singapore, Los Angeles, or other countries and travel for recruitment purposes.
  • Collaborate and contract with vendors for services.
  • Maintain and compile statistical data. Prepare reports for internal and external use.
  • Gather financial data, assist in budget development, and monitor expenses.
  • Assist in preparation or update of bulletins, newsletters, handbooks, guides, fact sheets and brochures. Coordinate production of materials by outside vendors.
  • Modify existing program services or create new program offerings to maintain or enhance program standing and rankings.
  • Develop and administer program operating and administrative policies.
  • Plan and conduct program quality assurance reviews, course scheduling changes, catalogue review, and recommend changes as appropriate.Preferred Qualifications
    • Advanced degree in student affairs, student development, counseling, higher education, or other related field is preferred but not required.
    • Experience in academic advisement and/or student support services and programs at an accredited college/university.
    • Familiarity with University student information and advising systems.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information within FERPA and University guidelines.
    • Demonstrated communication skills (interpersonal, written, verbal, presentation) to work with a variety of diverse constituents including students, families, faculty, and staff.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to meet student needs and department priorities.
    • Strong skills in Excel are recommendedRequired Documents and Additional Information
