Hotel Per La, a new luxury lifestyle property, will be opening its doors in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles later this year. Housed in the former Bank of Italy headquarters, a historic 12-story building on the corner of Olive and Seventh Streets, Hotel Per La will debut 241 guest rooms and grand public spaces for guests and locals alike including more than 10,000 square feet of event space, ground-floor restaurant, as well as a rooftop bar offering poolside drinks and dramatic views of the LA skyline. Hotel Per La will have a soft opening in Summer 2022, with a grand opening in September 2022. Job Overview The Event Sales Manager is responsible for generating revenues for meeting and event spaces within the property, working closely with the Sales, Events, F&B and Front of House departments. The primary focus is on executing all aspects of event planning including corporate meetings, events, and social functions. Event planning includes all aspects of business coordination such as responding to inquiries, site inspections, client entertainment, contract negotiations, upselling, billing, BEO building, general client relations, internal communications as well as ensuring the administrative components are closed out accurately and timely after the conclusion of the event. Other key responsibilities include exceeding client expectations and assist in rebooking the program. Special projects and assignments will also occur throughout the year to ensure efficient processes are in place to maximize profit and guest satisfaction and to ensure the smooth operation and success of the event office. Responsibilities --- Responsible for effectively communicating with the various departments to ensure that the meetings and events are executed to the clients "expectations plus one." Establish and maintain good communication and teamwork with fellow colleagues and other departments within the hotel. --- Conduct event and meeting space site inspections, client entertainment, and maintain relationships. --- Prepare and present proposals and contracts both written and verbal in a prompt, accurate, profitable, pleasant and professional manner. --- Generate detailed BEO's and communicate with Hotel department heads. --- Lead formal pre-event and post-event meetings. --- Ensure billing accuracy and conducts bill reviews with the clients prior to processing the final bill. --- Take ownership of all service issues brought to your attention by guests and customers. --- Develop and work from a quarterly action plan that encompasses Account Management, New Business Development and departmental profitability. --- Account prospecting, solicitation, and development via telephone, personal contact, outside calls, correspondence, email and other means of communication. --- Direct Sales: Targets appointment-oriented sales calls to ensure a successful catering direct sales effort, in accordance with goals established by department budget and marketing plan. Must have own reliable transportation and possess a valid state driver's license in order to make outside sales calls. --- New Account Development: Captures competitor's accounts through networking, research and reader board surveys in order to target and solicit those most probable to generate new business. --- Key Account Management: Maximizes current hotel key accounts by identifying and developing those that offer revenue growth. --- Acquires referrals from existing accounts: Follows up on all leads within 24 hours of receipt in an effort to create new business for the hotel and, when appropriate, sends leads to other Sage hotels. --- Client retention: Is responsible for rebooking event through building strong, professional client relationships and providing consistent outstanding customer service. --- Account Service and Management: Maintains well-documented, accurate, organized and up-to-date file management in order to serve client and employer in the most expedient, organized and knowledgeable manner. --- Develops client profiles and maintains as effective trace system including trace dates and references, in order to best meet client needs, resulting in superior account service and increased revenues. --- Develops strong client relationships through appropriate client communication and the use of professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interaction. --- Promptly, the same day or by 10am the next business day, follows-up on all customers' needs and inquires in an efficient and expedient manner. --- Professionalism: Controls expenses on the property's behalf in order to minimize department and hotel costs. Maximizes return on all investments. Represents themselves and the hotel with the highest level of integrity and professionalism, a service -focused approach and a caring, sincere attitude at all times. --- Exhibits a positive and involved team attitude to all hotel departments and maintains open communications with all coworkers for the best overall performance of the hotel. Display a neat, clean and business-like appearance at all times.
