Make yourself at home with us and start doing your life's best work.(sm) The UnitedHealthcare Community & State (C&S) Sr Director Long Term Care Product Design and Strategy will report to the C&S Vice President (VP) of Long-Term Care Product Performance and has responsibility for the development of our strategy, program design and delivery frameworks for our complex care programs serving our LTSS, FIDE and MMP members. This leader is responsible to build the strategic roadmap in collaboration with Clinical Leadership, Benefit Operations, Optum, and other enterprise partners to support alignment and delivery of our programs through C&S's local health plans. This includes leading the development and operationalization of new programs to address needs of complex populations, addressing program performance gaps, and enhancements to existing programs to meet the organization's financial, quality and growth goals. The Director will drive enterprise-wide cross-functional teams across UnitedHealth Group, to enable successful execution of the strategy, roadmap and future enhancements. This role requires understanding of the local health plans and the ability to drive business goals through product design, program frameworks, shared and delegated services, innovations, and implementation. They must understand how to define and translate complex business strategies and partner with Long Term Care Product Performance Director to facilitate operational execution and drive results across the heavily matrixed shared services organization. Results are critical to this leader's success with accountability to deliver innovative programs that drive affordability, ensure quality and provide services to address our members and contractual needs. You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Product Design and Strategy - Requires alignment to business and/or product strategy, effective design and development, and ongoing management of product portfolio across the full lifecycle to ensure business-specific or cross-enterprise success
    • Product Strategy
      • Develops, translates and executes strategies or functional/operational objectives for Medicaid LTSS and FIDE products
      • Develop and manage national business plans to support product portfolio
      • Manage cross-functional LTSS roadmap and strategy materials
      • Enable successful external product delivery and/or internal business function performance
      • Apply culture of continuous improvement and encourage innovation
      • Product Framework
        • Develop product requirements, core design & best practices to enhance ability to deliver products to market and state partners
        • Own overall product framework design across product, policy, growth, clinical ops, network, member and provider experience, and quality
        • Define business requirements for health plans, functional partners (incl. IT, clinical ops, member services) & vendors/third parties
        • Accountable for delivering sustainable, financially sound solutions that solve a specific problem and enable successful external product delivery and/or internal business function performance, while driving adoption with internal business partners and define future capability direction that supports business strategy and new opportunities
        • Subject Matter Expertise
          • Serve as LTSS consultant in working with external and internal partners
          • Review materials pertaining to LTSS that are produced from cross-functional partners
          • Guide data analysis, competitive analysis, and market research to identify areas of opportunity in serving members enrolled in LTSS - You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications:
            • Bachelor's degree or commiserate experience
            • 10+ years of experience in professional and management roles within a health care administration or health care payer environment
            • 5+ years of experience working with LTSS populations
            • 3+ years of program management experience including facilitating or influencing changes to product portfolio to improve competitive position and optimal product performance in large complex organization
            • 3+ years of experience in full ownership in design, development, and implementation with national exposure and material component of overall organization Preferred Qualifications:
              • Direct experience with multiple C&S Medicaid products, including operational and clinical experience
              • Exposure and awareness of suite of products, including cross segment integration and coordination
              • Experience with direct ownership of and interactions with providers servicing Medicaid members
              • Experience with complex and/or long-term care populations Assets:
                • Demonstrated strategic thinker with a keen sense of the business and our state partner needs
                • Proven ability to collaborate and integrate multiple perspectives, yet willing and able to be decisive to achieve a strategic vision
                • Demonstrated ability to be capable of managing a variety of complex initiatives while driving momentum on key projects by accurately scoping out projects, setting / measuring progress against goals and developing / managing schedules / resource assignment
                • Proven excellent communication (written and verbal) and analytical skills used to communicate strategy and success of organization across leadership and organization

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary/hourly range for Colorado residents is $113,500 to $218,100. The salary/hourly range for Connecticut/Nevada residents is $113,500 to $218,100.
