We're redefining the future of entertainment and we're ready for you to play a big part in that future too.Overall PurposeDesign, develop and implement pricing strategy for video products and services within the DIRECTV portfolio.DescriptionAs the Lead Manager of Pricing Strategy, you develop, implement, and execute on video service pricing and offer strategies across all of DIRECTV video platforms. This exciting role will support the DIRECTV satellite, DIRECTV STREAM, and U-verse TV platforms as well as any new platforms.As DIRECTV seeks to drive long-term profitable growth and a superior customer experience, this position will be tasked with envisioning creative solutions to meet customer needs while aligning with enterprise subscriber, revenue, and margin goals.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop pricing strategies that keep DIRECTV's offering competitive, balancing price with customer value. Formulate complex data modeling and financial analysis scenarios to interpret and develop pricing strategies and potential impacts.
  • Engage with offers team to model impact of new offers and promotional strategies
  • Work with the product organization to optimally price new features and capabilities to create additional customer and business value
  • Drive evaluation of customer impact from pricing moves(60%) Develop pricing strategy that keeps DIRECTV's offering competitive, balancing price with customer value
    • Develop and support strategic principles to guide enterprise pricing moves
    • Develop and lead periodic projects to optimize Residential & Commercial prices to meet customer needs while aligning with revenue goals
    • Drive current pricing opportunities including:
      • Annual price increase
      • New satellite pricing model
      • Utilize analytics and financial modeling to drive fact-based decision making
      • Leverage analyses of churn data and consumer insights to alter pricing strategies to reduce customer churn and improve lifetime value
      • Coordinate with Consumer Research, Competitive Intelligence, Customer Service, and Investor Relations to track customer pricing and packaging needs, industry trends and competitive dynamics, and to identify threats and opportunities
      • Working with cross-functional stakeholders (including Sales, Marketing, Analytics, Finance, Programming Acquisition, Legal, Engineering, and IT) to ensure buy-in and proper execution to pricing changes(20%) Engage with offers team to model impact of new offers and promotional strategies
        • Work with the Promotions team to identify the latest competitive offers, and support the team during the offer development process
        • Model the impact of new offers, and partner on developing new offer ideas to drive subscriber growth
        • Work with finance organization to gain approval for new offers based on modeled financial impact(10%) Work with the product organization to optimally price new features and capabilities to create additional customer and business value
          • Understand the new product feature and capability roadmap and the impact on DIRECTV's customer value proposition
          • Partner with the product organization to develop pricing for business case for new features and capabilities
          • Model the impact of new pricing on existing customer acquisitions, and partner on developing new strategies to use new features and capabilities to drive subscriber growth
          • Work with finance organization to gain approval for new prices based on modeled financial impact(10%) Drive evaluation of customer impact from pricing moves
            • Work in conjunction with the Sales, Analytics, and Retention teams to keep abreast of video pricing trends
            • Develop strategic thinking around pricing opportunities that leverage the DIRECTV's video platforms, premiums, sports programing, and other assets to optimize revenue
            • Work with finance and analytics to quantify the impact of annual price increase and other pricing moves

              Qualifications - ExternalQualifications
              • 5+ years of experience envisioning and executing margin and profit growth strategies, with prior positions in at least one of the following industries:
                • Top tier strategy consulting, finance, or corporate strategy
                • Subscription based services, hospitality, airlines, or another industry where revenue management plays a large role in success of the business
                • Telecom, media, or entertainment
                • BS required, MBA or other advanced degree from a leading (top-10) program preferred
                • Ability to analyze and apply data to business strategy and goals; financial acumen and comfort with financial modeling is a must
                • Self-directed, results-oriented individual who can independently handle multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
                • Ability to champion ideas and execute in an expedited timeframe
                • Strong strategic, financial, analytical, and conceptual skills
