We continue--to look to the future and has successfully bolstered our team of Advisors during the pandemic. The role of Director, Business Development will be based in a major Western US market and has the opportunity to significantly impact the performance of the Leisure Division. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Leisure, the successful candidate--will be part of the team responsible for onboarding $250+ million in travel bookings by identifying, qualifying and recruiting travel advisors into the Travel Edge network. The ideal candidate has strong travel experience, contacts and an ability to understand and speak to the world of the luxury travel advisor. In addition, you will advance our understanding of the North American advisor landscape and develop the playbook for advisor acquisition by analyzing target markets, prospective opportunities and articulating our value proposition. You are a results-oriented leader who is highly entrepreneurial, data driven and creative. Responsibilities
    • Act as an ambassador for Travel Edge, building relationships with top luxury advisor talent and attracting them to the network.
    • Leveraging your travel experience and skills as a strong communicator, you excel at identifying advisor needs and mapping our solutions to individual requirements.
    • Lead the existing team by providing insights, coaching and feedback to continue to develop a best in class BD capability.
    • Develop an awareness of top talent by segment/market and craft a targeted approach to introduce them to the benefits of Travel Edge.
    • Work cross functionally with internal teams to enhance our strengths and improve our value proposition where there is opportunity.
    • Fully engage with Travel Edge proprietary booking platform (ADX) to understand and articulate its advantages and share advisor insight/feedback with the development team.
    • Support a seamless onboarding process by understanding transition requirements and managing workflow.
    • Partner with marketing and lean into PR opportunities to highlight Travel Edge competitive advantages and drive awareness with advisors. Qualifications
      • Minimum five years of progressive work experience in the travel industry in sales or business development or has progressive travel industry experience with a history of proven business success.
      • Has a roll-up your sleeves approach with the flexibility to move quickly and navigate a large and complex marketplace.
      • Excellent communication skills and persuasive skills with proven ability to influence external prospects.
      • Naturally curious with a strong determination to work around obstacles.
      • Takes ownership, initiative and is self-directed.
      • Consultative selling and client relationship development experience, with proven success.
      • Collaborative and confident with sound judgment.
      • Has a straightforward style and can quickly generate trust with a variety of stakeholders.
      • Unquestionable integrity, high energy and a sense of urgency.
      • Embraces challenge and has the desire to be a part of a fast-growing company where the only constant is change.
      • A results-driven and forward-looking perspective. Holds self and others accountable.
