Job Description:
What we’re building Every idea starts with a problem. Ours was
simple: Boats are special — but they’re loud, pollutant,
unreliable, and stuck in the past. Gas-powered boats dominate not
because they’re great, but because no better option has existed.
Until now. Arc is here to change that. We’re building 100% electric
boats from the ground up — quicker, quieter, easier to maintain,
and better for the water they ride on. We’re not just swapping gas
for batteries. We’re rethinking every detail on the boat — from
propulsion and powertrain to software and ownership model —
applying first-principles engineering from aerospace and EVs to
deliver a better boating experience. Electric boats haven’t taken
over yet. The tech hasn’t been ready. The talent hasn’t been
focused here. That’s our opportunity — and we’re moving fast. Who
we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who’s fired up by our
mission and ready to build. You’ll thrive here if you adapt
quickly, take ownership, and care about the details. This is a
full-time, on-site role at Los Angeles headquarters and will be
working first shift (6AM~3PM) with the opportunity for overtime and
weekend work. You’ll report to the Manager, Quality Engineering and
work closely with a lean, high-trust team where everyone’s work
matters. Core responsibilities Performing detailed visual and
dimensional inspections of composite (carbon & fiberglass)
structures, metallic components, integrated boats and
sub-assemblies. Conducting First Article, in-process, and final
inspections to ensure adherence to engineering drawings and quality
standards. Documenting inspection results and non-conformances
quickly & accurately in the quality management system.
Collaborating with the production and engineering teams to identify
root causes of defects and implementing corrective actions.
Verifying that all work instructions and documentation are
completed correctly before releasing parts to the next stage of
production. Contributing to improving workshop standards,
inspection protocols, and quality processes. Maintaining high
standards of safety, quality, and output. Basic qualifications
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Quality Inspector or in a
comparable quality control role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency using precision measuring instruments including
calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators. Hands-on
experience inspecting composite materials, including carbon fiber
and fiberglass structures, in a production or manufacturing
setting. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings,
including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), work
instructions, and product data sheets. Strong attention to detail
with demonstrated ability to identify cosmetic and structural
defects in composite surfaces and assembled components. Physical
ability to stand extended periods (6-10 hours per day) and lift or
move materials up to 50lbs. Clear and effective communication
skills, with the ability to document and communicate quality issues
to technicians and engineers. Bonus qualifications Minimum of 2
