Reliability Engineer reports to the Maintenance & Reliability
Superintendent (who reports to the Maintenance Manager). This
position directs the reliability programs of all rotating equipment
at the Los Angeles Refinery Wilmington plant.Responsibilities may
includeOwns and reports on the Mechanical Department's
administrative and technical Key Performance Indicators, local and
corporate.Participates in Unit HAZOP's for key and critical
operating variables that impact mechanical integrity.Accountable
for meeting the budgetary constraints and meeting all the
technical, reliability, and administrative goals of the
department.Responsible for Mechanical Reliability input to the
Capital Projects group for the specification, selection,
purchasing, and installation of Mechanical equipment in compliance
with the REP's and industry codes and standards.Participates in
corporate Rotating Equipment Network efforts for knowledge sharing,
developing best practices, and reviewing REP standards.Develops,
implements, and monitors predictive and preventive maintenance
programs for all Refinery mechanical systems.Provides technical
support to the Operations and Technical Services departments to
eliminate rotating equipment failures, improve the quality of
maintenance repairs, support equipment operation, ensure
appropriate engineered modifications, and new equipment
installations.Identifies key Mechanical systems reliability
indicators and ensures such are monitored, analyzed and
subsequently acted upon to increase the on-stream efficiency of all
Refinery Mechanical systems.Responsible for administering and
updating the Los Angeles Refinery Mechanical Specifications and
Procedures Manual.Responsible for the development of Mechanical
systems work scopes for all turnarounds.Responsible for
coordinating turnaround support to ensure that all required work
scope is completed and accurately documented.Ensures preventive and
predictive maintenance schedules are appropriate for rotating
equipment.Addresses Reliable Operating Limit notifications
appropriately.Complete PSM requirements for rotating equipment such
as PHA's, MOC's, PSI updates, etc.Overseeing of equipment
criticality ranking and 'bad actor list' and
developing/implementing projects to improve reliability.Long range
planning and scope development of major rotating equipment.Required
QualificationsLegally authorized to work in the job posting
countryValid Driver's LicenseBachelor of Science in Engineering2 or
more years of experience in maintenance/engineering with emphasis
on rotating machinery issuesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite
(Word, Excel, Outlook)Preferred QualificationsBachelor of Science
in Mechanical EngineeringAbility to communicate effectively, both
verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organizationWilling
and able to respond to, independently evaluate, plan, and
coordinate/facilitate unexpected repair efforts during emergencies
and after-hours call-outsWorking knowledge with the SAP Plant
Maintenance (PM) module10 or more years of experience working in
the refinery, power generation or chemical industryResults oriented
and resourceful in meeting challenging goalsThe Los Angeles
Refinery consists of two linked facilities located five miles apart
in Carson and Wilmington, California. The Carson facility processes
crude oil, and the Wilmington facility upgrades the intermediate
products to finished products. The facilities include crude
distillation, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking,
alkylation, hydrocracking and delayed coking units. The refinery
processes mainly heavy, high-sulfur crude oil. It receives domestic
crude oil by pipeline from California, Canadian crude via rail, and
both foreign and domestic crude oil by tanker through a third-party
terminal in the Port of Long Beach. The refinery produces a high
percentage of transportation fuels. The refinery produces
CARB-grade gasoline. Other products include petroleum coke. Refined
products are distributed to California, Nevada and Arizona by

CompensationThe base pay range for this role is $78,300.00 - $
131,250.00 depending on a candidate's relevant work experience and
education. In addition to your base salary, you may be eligible to
participate in an annual bonus program, the Variable Cash Incentive
