hardware for liquid rocket engines that support exploration

Specialist Level) to join our team in Canoga Park, CA. This
individual will provide program Quality Engineering support for
assigned contracted programs spanning the lifecycle of the program
including design, development, production, test and supplier

future positions. Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for
Each)30% - Provides Quality Engineering direction including, but
not limited to these areas:
- Requirements flowdown: Ensure program design and process
documents for area of responsibility include program quality
requirements and that products are inspectable.
- Planning review and approval. Independently reviews
manufacturing planning to ensure appropriate design engineering
requirements implementation, material traceability maintenance,
quality record maintenance and operator and inspector sign-offs.
Designates inspection/verification needs.
- Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (PFMEA). Lead effort
to quantify and reduce risk using this quality tool. Is considered
the process expert.
- Process mistake proofing/improvement. Actively participates in
improvement teams to reduce risk through the application of mistake
proofing principles.
- Inspects method development and implementation. Develops,
implements and monitors new or existing inspection methods to
ensure products meet stated engineering requirements.
- First Article Inspection execution per AS9102 requirements.20%
- Utilizes engineering background and expertise to communicate
between team members, customer counterparts and suppliers to
provide assurance that the hardware is compliant to specifications.
Handles and communicates deviations/non-conformances at different
levels within the organization. Understands and communicates
typical aerospace processes (machining, welding, NDT, etc.) and how
they are applied to the hardware being manufactured.20% - Applies
modern quality principles, concepts and methods, including Lean
Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process variation management tools to
continuously improve processes, reduce cost and ensure the quality
of our products and services. Drives corrective and preventive
action to ensure continual improvement. Investigates and determines
root causes of problems. Develops and implements corrective and
preventive actions.10% - Actively participates in the Material
Review Board, including segregation and control of nonconforming
hardware to preclude inadvertent processing, disposition
nonconforming hardware, preparing for and conducting board
meetings, and implementing disposition decisions.10% - Participates
in design reviews to identify inspectability and producibility
issues and opportunities early in the product life cycle.
Interprets engineering drawings and specifications, customer
quality requirements and company quality requirements to ensure
compliance with the customer's expectations.10% - Prepares
comprehensive analyses, procedures, reports and presentations for
both internal and external customers.RequirementsRequires a
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline and at least 5 years
of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education
and experience. Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field
- CQE and/or CSSBB
- ADQPAdditional Requirements:
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within a
close-knit team environment; highly motivated team player.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills and the
ability to operate in a team environment.
- Computer skills sufficient to generate reports and analyze data
using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word software.
- Ability to analyze, evaluate and develop solutions to a variety
of situations.May be required to obtain and maintain a U.S.
Security Clearance at the appropriate level. Requires U.S.
Citizenship. Must be able to satisfy federal government
requirements for access to government information, and having dual
citizenship may preclude you from being able to meet this
requirement.Physical Requirements / Work Environment:Employees in
these positions must possess mobility to work in a standard office
setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer;
stamina to sit or stand and maintain attention to detail despite
interruptions; may occasionally lift/carry/push/pull up to 25
pounds; may require occasional walking, climbing, stooping,
crouching, and/or bending; and vision to read printed materials and

apply.Pay range for this position:83,000 - 123,000 per year Note
