We have an opening for an Electronics Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Strategic Space Systems Division (SSSD) organization supporting the Module Assembly and Test - Test Engineering team. This position will be located in Manhattan Beach, CA.

In this role you will research, design, develop, and test a variety of spaceflight and avionics microelectronic assemblies, including:

  • Radio frequency and millimeter wave electronics
  • Radar and radiation detection electronics
  • Circuitry components
  • Analog and digital communication electronics
  • Control and test electronics
  • Translate and research specifications to design and develop test protocols for product verification/validation Essential Functions:
    • Supports and participates in the design, modification, fabrication, and mechanical & electrical testing of prototype and production microelectronic assemblies
    • Design and develop test methodology and protocols for variety of RF/digital assemblies and products
    • Sustain production testing of RF/digital microelectronic products
    • Leads the evaluation, disposition, and rework of discrepancies on product testing. Tasks include performing root cause analysis, coordinating with quality engineering, and implementation of cost effect corrective actions
    • Monitor test process stability through SPC, Pareto charts, and applicable metrics
    • Identify and procure test equipment
    • Document and implement test process
    • Support design engineer in test data analysis and reportingTo be successful you should:
      • Thrive in a fast-paced production work environment with high expectations, diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings across all levels
      • Have e xcellent verbal and written communication with a willingness to voice ideas and concerns
      • Be comfortable in a lab environment and be able to collaborate closely with cost account managers, test engineers, test technicians, manufacturing engineers, process planners, product engineers, and design engineers
      • Ability to interface and collaborate with various disciplines in the product design/manufacturing/testing process This position can be filled at the Principal or Sr. Principal Engineer level.

        Basic Qualifications:
        Principal Engineer
        • Bachelor's in a STEM field and 5+ years of experience, OR a Master's degree and 3+ years of experience, OR a PhD
        • Experience working in a production testing environment
        • High proficiency with at minimum one of the following programming languages: LabView, Matlab, Python, Visual Basic, C++, JAVA Sr. Principal Engineer
          • Bachelor's in a STEM field and 9+ years of experience, OR a Master's degree and 7+ years of experience, OR a PhD and 4+ years of experience
          • Experience working in a production testing environment
          • High proficiency with at minimum one of the following programming languages: LabView, Matlab, Python, Visual Basic, C++, JAVA Preferred Qualifications:
            • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
            • Experience designing RF modules/systems and/or corresponding verification test sets
            • Mixed Signal and / or digital testing experience
            • Experience with design, development and/or testing of microelectronic assemblies
            • Familiarity with Radio Frequency/Millimeter Wave testing in a production environment
            • Experience with programming in Labview and VBA
            • Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
            • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplish them simultaneously

              Space System


              Salary Range: $101,400 USD - $152,200 USD
              Salary Range 2: $125,800 USD - $188,600 USD

              Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
