Northrop Grumman is seeking a Sr Principal Engineer Research
Development Engineer located in Northridge, CA. Job Description,
T04 Research Development Senior Principal Research Development
Engineer and support for Advanced Anti-Radiation Guided Missile
(AARGM) Anti-Radiation Homing (ARH, passive radar) system algorithm
development Develop, review, implement and test new signal
processing and image processing algorithms Diagnose ARH issues,
analyze ARH data, and evaluate ARH signal processing algorithms and
hardware Essential Duties and Responsibilities --- Develop and
implement technical solutions to ARH system problems --- Grow into
position as ARH technical lead --- Interact with other ARH experts
and senior engineers --- Help coordinate issue resolution between
various engineering disciplines --- Help analyze ARH data, evaluate
ARH performance and support ARH flight data analysis --- Help
identify ARH signal processing algorithm and hardware issues as
they arise --- Help troubleshoot and diagnose ARH production issues
at subsystem and RF processor levels --- Help improve production
ARH subsystem tests and procedures --- Grow into signal and image
processing algorithm design subject matter expert (SME) --- Grow
into advanced direction-finding techniques subject matter expert
(SME) --- Independently determine and develop technical objectives
of assignments --- Innovative problem solving --- Works with
minimal direction Basic Qualifications: BS Engineering or Physics
degree and at least 9 years' experience or MS Engineering or
Physics degree and at least 7 years in a radar or lidar related
industry, or Ph.D in Engineering or Physics and at least 4 years in
radar or related industry. M.S. degree and DoD contractor
experience preferred. Excellent understanding of radar or RF
systems and their algorithms Ability to obtain secret security
clearance required Programming skills in Matlab and/or Python
Preferred Qualifications: Active secret or top secret security
clearance Current Special Program Access Radar-related industry
experience and/or DOD contractor experience Knowledge of
Software-Defined Radio (SDR) and Electronic Protection(EP)
techniques Good understanding of advanced direction-finding
techniques Knowledge of RF propagation and phenomenology (e.g.,
multipath, ground clutter, adverse environments) Radar design,
sensor performance evaluation, radar system modeling (IQ through
signal processing) Complex electromagnetics Radar integration and

Northrop Grumman Salary Range: $129,700 - $194,500 Employees may be
eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual
bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as
