Job Description Job Description Concrete Superintendent - Heavy Civil Superintendent - Heavy Civil Location: LA County, CA Salary: $100K -$180K (salary depends on experience) Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Concrete Superintendent for our Heavy Civil projects. The ideal candidate will oversee all concrete-related activities on-site, ensuring quality control, safety, and adherence to project schedules. This role requires a strong background in heavy civil construction, including highways, bridges, and earthwork. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily concrete operations on heavy civil projects, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications. Manage and direct concrete crews, providing guidance and training as necessary. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely and cost-effective completion of tasks. Implement and enforce safety protocols on-site to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct quality control inspections on concrete work, including grading, paving, and mass concrete. Oversee the preparation and pouring of site and bridge concrete, ensuring adherence to DOT standards. Qualifications Proven experience as a Superintendent in heavy civil construction, particularly with highways and bridges. Larger Caltrans bridge or paving experience Union experience preferred but not needed Strong knowledge of concrete practices, materials, and techniques. Familiarity with DOT regulations and safety standards in civil construction. Experience in managing large teams and coordinating multiple subcontractors. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
