Job Description:

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / COMPETENCIES
1. Monitor and maintain stock levels and ships sales literature and sample requests to sales representatives and/or accounts from Monrovia supplies to support field sales efforts.
2. Create and/or process check requests, new vendor requests, Purchase Requisitions for the Marketing Department and domestic sales force, including sponsorship of regional meetings and events. Ensure compliance with Sunshine Act for events involving physicians.
3. Assist in the coordination and execution of trade shows by preparing booth duty schedules, general event information sheet and distributing general meeting information to the field. Assist Marketing Management with housing, booth, course and meeting preparation as needed.
4. Assist in the coordination and execution of STAAR participation in regional trade shows by coordinating registration, portable booth shipment and supporting materials.
5. Work with Marketing Manager to create powerpoint presentations and other materials to support product marketing.
6. Work interdepartmentally to obtain internal approvals of marketing materials and upload these materials into STAAR's document control systems.
7. Perform other general office duties such as e-mailing, faxing, copying, supply ordering, opening department mail and filing.
8. Be able to do heavy lifting up to 30 lbs.
9. Travel up to 10% per year.
10. Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTSEDUCATION & TRAINING
--- High school diploma or equivalent. Two years of college preferred.EXPERIENCE
--- Minimum two years of administrative assistant experience required.
--- Sales and marketing experience preferred; medical or ophthalmic background desirable.SKILLS
--- Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
--- Ability to handle a high volume of phone calls and work in a fast-paced environment.
--- Good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
--- Ability to keep confidential and restricted information.
