If you are a Green Dot employee, please apply using the Career Worklet on the Workday Home Page.OPPORTUNITYAs a Communications & Marketing Manager, you will assist with the development, implementation and daily operations of all activities related to Green Dot California's communications needs, with a focus on content creation and curation to support external relations and brand management. You are outcomes oriented and rely on data to make decisions.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Design, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive communications plan to strengthen Green Dot California's overall brand recognition and meet its communications goals Develop and implement strategies to engage prospective supporters, monitor content performance, circulate regular media reports and bring forward recommendations for continuous improvement Listen and engage in relevant public dialogue in the digital sphere about our organization, competitors, and industry, both from existing supporters, and new audiences not yet familiar with Green Dot Support the Green Dot CA C-Suite with external communications including the preparation of thought leadership pieces, slides, and speaking opportunities Improve Green Dot California's presence in publications by proactively drafting pitches, developing relationships and responding to media requests as needed Support Director of Communications & Marketing in crisis communications and proactively develop tools to support crisis communications Collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer and Director of Communications & Marketing in the creation of Annual Reports to support fundraising and brand recognition Draft material to support elected official engagement including letters, collateral and memorandum Manage the workflow and communication with communications and marketing vendors and freelancers Other tasks as assignedQUALIFICATIONSAs an ideal candidate, you hold a bachelor's degree (English, Communications or a related field preferred) have 2-4 years of experience in a related field have experience writing and editing high-quality content for the web, including blog posts and social media posts as well as traditional publications are able to effectively present and explain ideas to colleagues possess an excellent eye for design and typography; experience with other creative disciplines is a plus (e.g., photography, graphic design, video, etc.) have a strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities are experienced with multiple creative disciplines such as web design, photography and video editing (preferred) are proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat); operating knowledge of MacOS required have a working knowledge of the printing process and specifications, including production and rendering methods, four-color printing process, digital production, and pre-press delivery formats possess a thorough understanding of the design process, and working knowledge of digital photography and videography are able to work in a team environment possess strong interpersonal skills are able to work well under pressure on time-sensitive issues, shift priorities and meet deadlines have an interest in and knowledge of current events and media trends are familiar with the education reform & public education sector are dependable, humble, have a sense of humor and a rock-solid commitment to Green Dot's mission and the communities we serve will need to pass a TB test and background check at time of offer will need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (submission of proof of vaccination will be required)The information contained herein is not intended to be an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of the job, nor is it intended to be an all-inclusive list of the skills and abilities required to perform the job.COMPENSATIONThe starting salary range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000, based on education and experience. This position also qualifies for a one-time $2,500 signing bonus, paid in two installments after months 6 and 12 of employment (subject to change).
