The Senior Data and Reporting Analyst is responsible for creating and updating Optum Clinical -Performance Quality's supplemental data reports, tracking metrics such as total charts reviewed by -week, month, and year. They are responsible for the identification of data discrepancies, identifying and -solutioning for potential system and/or process issues. They perform data analysis, identifying for -potential areas of risk prior to audit. This role will also develop chart volume forecast models, through -understanding and working in multiple chart storage systems. They collaborate with the SDS Operations -team to recommend and develop improved data and reporting solutions. This role is responsible for -creating final supplemental data submissions and any ad-hoc reports required for continuous quality -assurance checks, ensuring all data submitted to the health plan meets the HEDIS -/Star technical -specifications and can be used for final HEDIS - reporting.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Troubleshoot data integrity issues, analyze data for completeness, and propose and document -recommended solutions
  • Perform data analysis and comparison, validate memberships across different systems and tools, identifying any anomalies
  • Research anomalies and identify solutions and/or workarounds
  • Collaborate with team to identify opportunities for improved reporting
  • Design, develop, test, and document requested changes to new and existing reports
  • Pull ad-hoc reports/exports to validate data flows and system functionality
  • Develop expert-level understanding of systems and data flows, including chart storage of both -prospective and retrospective risk adjustment medical records
  • Utilize data to make recommendations related to risk mitigation, refined volume forecasting, and improved process flows
  • Collaborate with Director and team to create Section 5 Roadmap Documentation and final -submission rules
  • Create final submission of supplemental data, in accordance with health plan requirements
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution to any/all system issues affecting team

    Required Qualifications:


    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field required (4+ years of comparable work experience beyond the required years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree)
    • 4+ years of related experience in a reporting and analytic role
    • 1+ years of experience developing process flows and/or forecast models
    • 1+ years of experience in a managed care environment
    • Proficient in SQL, T-SQL, SSRS Reporting, and Tableau Reporting


      Preferred Qualifications:


      • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Information Technology
      • Certified Professional Coder
      • 7+ years of reporting/analytic experience -
      • Experience in Medicare Advantage Part D (MAPD) operations -
      • Development experience with APIs using Java, MS, or similar technology -
      • Familiarity with Business Objects, Cognos, Microsoft Reporting Services, or other Reporting Tools
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with special attention to accuracy and detail
      • Self-starter with a proven ability to take ownership of job responsibilities and ensure successful -
      • completion of all projects and requests
      • Solid verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management, including executive and senior management teams
      • Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task in high volume workload situations

        Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $90,500 to $161,600. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
