Job Description:
Job Description The planner will manage primarily all linear
media planning, and potentially digital video planning (CTV/OTT)
and must lead strategic direction in order to create the best media
plans possible. They are expected to be familiar with all account
details, as they pertain to media. Primary Responsibilities Manage
day to day media planning specifically on linear TV Build strategic
Powerpoint slides Build out a strategic game-plan for client
approval Help to outline preferred
budgets/flighting/pulses/hiatuses Use GRPs/Ratings, Reach &
Frequency, CPMs, CPP to help with strategy to hit goals Respond to
competitive requests; researching and compiling competitive data
Develop and apply a working knowledge of basic media concepts,
terminology, media math and media plan execution (e.g., reach,
frequency, universe, rating, CPM, etc.) Responsible for analysis,
planning, placement and related reports Assemble and evaluate
marketing data to determine the client's advertising and media
needs Analyze media alternatives to recommend how to best allocate
the advertising budget (new and rollout clients) Keep up with
marketplace opportunities; evaluate and propose targeting,
geography, scheduling, support level, and budget Work with other
teams to solve media problems (e.g. buyers understand planners and
vice versa, execution of integrated/added value programs, billing
discrepancies, traffic problems, contract loading, pre-emption,
make-goods) Demonstrate excellent attention to detail and
follow-through skills Serve as a role model with a positive
attitude and facilitate a team environment Looking at
Competitive/Pulling Competitive regularly as need to review trends
Be a team player & open to suggestions/changes as needed Building
out media flowcharts with flighting & reaching KPI goals Coach and
develop junior personnel Education and Experience A B.S. / B.A.
degree in marketing, communications or related field Minimum of 2
to 4 years of agency experience A strong understanding of direct
response marketing Strong DRTV experience a must; digital
experience a plus Excellent analytical ability Detail-oriented,
organized, and superior written/verbal communication and
presentation skills Demonstrates advanced proficiency with
Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Enthusiastic team player with
an "anything is possible" attitude Proficiency with media-related
and other basic software packages or willing to learn (including,
but not limited to): Strata DR Metrix MRI (Nielsen) CORE Company
