Job Description:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or a related area
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in a similar role
  • Minimum of 6 years social media experience in a corporate or agency setting
  • Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team of social media team professionals, guiding their professional growth, and building a positive team culture
  • Excellent understanding of social media and/or digital strategy and its place in the marketing ecosystem
  • Proven experience developing, implementing, and managing multiple social media campaigns via several accounts on all relevant platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snap, TikTok)
  • Experience working with at least one CMS and building/administering content in CMS environments
  • Excellent social media copywriting and/or visual design skills
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics
  • Excellent leadership, presentation, and communication skills
  • Experience in the Facebook ad platform, including experience working with Custom Audiences
  • Ability to create agendas, schedules, check-ins, and project manage both team members and campaigns utilizing software like Sprinklr, Later, Microsoft Excel, Word, Teams and other time management software
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator Position Summary The Director of Social Media directs a team of social media professionals to craft the creative voice behind Bedrock's social media presence. This leader creates targeted strategies to reach a wide breadth of audiences via organic and paid outreach on Bedrock's namesake accounts and that of associated brands. Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, the Director of Social Media leads all social media planning, strategy, goal setting, budgets, execution, and social media campaign adjustments to ensure alignment with company goals. The Director is also responsible for building and analyzing the audiences for Bedrock's social media channels while prioritizing brand awareness, cultivation of leads and sales, and reputation management. The Director of Social Media is a highly motivated, creative individual with experience and a passion for the latest digital technologies and social media trends that will best connect with current and future clients and partners. The Director collaborates daily with their marketing and communications colleagues and senior company leadership to further company narratives and help achieve leasing and sales goals. When successful, followers become clients, and clients become advocates. Responsibilities
    • Work with the Vice President of Communications and other company leaders to develop social media strategy and goals to align with all company messages and business initiatives
    • Anticipate social media trends and when relevant, adapt them to Bedrock's voice and narrative
    • Develop and maintain Bedrock's brand voice in the social media arena
    • Develop and maintain community and reputation management strategies
    • Maintain database of relevant social media influencers and manage their content when employed
    • Lead a team of social media professionals to translate strategic objectives into engaging social media content with associated high-performance tactics that drive results
    • Work communications and marketing colleagues as needed to develop and implement social media guidelines and subsequent campaigns to support a wide variety of initiatives, including breaking news, brand awareness, lead generation and sponsorships
    • Analyze and interpret performance data for presentation to leadership and recommend solutions for improvement
    • Create, implement and enforce the Social Media team's standards of excellence, workflow processes, prioritization, quality review processes, community engagement, crisis management, and communication systems
    • Develop systems to manage all social media crises and escalate posts to Bedrock Leadership when appropriate
    • Develop knowledge of the Cities of Detroit and Cleveland, including its history, neighborhoods, and the recent developments
    • Consistently audit Bedrock's social media properties and recommend any necessary additions or alterations to the lineup to reinforce company goals
