The Conference Coordinator is a flexible and quickly adaptable team
player who knows how to use her/his personal spirituality, skills
and talents to support the needs of Conferences of Charity
throughout the Archdiocese Los Angeles. The Coordinator requires a
level of motivation and be able to create relationships with clergy
and community representatives to better serve and promote the work
of the Society. Relational skills and an outgoing personality allow
this candidate to successfully recruit, train, form and motivate
church volunteers to serve. The Coordinator helps to facilitate
opportunities for our members to grow in spirituality, friendship
and service. The coordinator works with a team to provide support
with: Spiritual Formation; training; meeting deadlines for annual
reports and legal filings; & annual events. Coordinator utilizes
great mediation and problem-solving skills to resolve possible
conflicts with friends and among members. A passion to serve and a
can-do attitude are required! Responsibilities: Daily communication
with volunteer members working in their local communities to assist
them in living out the Mission of the Society. Passion for the
mission of the Society to attract, recruit, train, and retain
membership. Communicate with parish staff and leadership, i.e.
priests and deacons, to establish new conferences/groups of the
Society and to revitalize existing ones. Requires a moderate amount
of weeknight work and travel. Requires a modest amount of weekend
work and travel. Biannual national travel. Support member
development in Vincentian Spirituality by studying and learning the
Rule of the Society, and explanation of basic Catholic social
teaching. Conduct training, and workshops on Vincentian formation,
spirituality, history, accountability, culture, etc., as provided
in training materials from the National Council of the Society.
Assist in conflict resolution amongst volunteer members, and or
those they serve, and or community members. Support Conferences in
their completion of necessary Annual and on-going reporting,
documentation, and filing as required by our National Council and
government agencies. Support team members during all Vincentian
events throughout the year with planning, execution and follow up
for each event. Daily in office availability to receive emails,
phone calls and in-person visits for assistance and referral from
those we serve. Work with a team in the establishment of annual
goals, tracking and reporting data. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: Requirements: BA/BS degree or equivalent in a related
field preferred/or High school diploma or GED is required, along
with relevant experience. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish
preferred. Korean language proficiency is very helpful. Manages
daily schedule; evening and weekend availability required. Driver's
license preferred Knowledge of Catholic faith and parish life.
Working knowledge of social media and social networks.
Understanding of the Rule, structure, mission, and objectives of
the Society. Prior volunteer-support experience recommended.
Excellent computer skills; experience in MS Word, Excel, Power
Point, and Outlook; great internet research abilities required.
Great communication skills required, oral and written. Excellent
problem-solving skills; Good natured; Helpful attitude; and thrives
in a busy environment. Working Conditions & Physical Work Demands:
Stoop, kneel, bend at the waist and reach daily. Lift and move up
to 50 lbs. unassisted. Regular and on-time attendance is critical;
hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week. Full-time employees
