A local leading Aerospace company is currently seeking an experienced Buyer in El Segundo for a temporary to hire opportunity. Buyer?s coordinate activities involved with procuring goods and services such as equipment, tools, parts, and supplies for the company.

Responsibilities for Buyer include but are not limited to the following:

• Select and order merchandise for, office and/or staff requirements, basing selection on best price, quality, service and delivery.

• Review requisitions. Confers with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as specifications, tolerances, price, availability, and delivery schedule.

• Recommend or selects non-inventory type products for purchase through evaluation of testing, observing, or examining items to meet requestors? requirements. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.

• Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.

• Prepare purchase orders or bid requests.

• Review bids and negotiate price within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

• Maintain procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality and performance, and inventories.

• Expedite delivery of goods as required.

• Confer with department supervisors, production staff or end user to determine material requirements and to inform supervisors/managers of material status. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with personnel, production and suppliers to determine root cause and corrective actions as required.

• Other duties as assigned

Candidates must meet the following requirements for consideration:

• Bachelors Degree or minimum 3 years relevant experience required

• Prior experience in purchasing for a manufacturing environment with strong interaction at all levels with employees and outside suppliers.

Pay for this position is $17-$19/hour depending on experience. This is a temporary-to-hire opportunity.
