POSITION SUMMARY:Under the supervision of the Pepperdine Counseling Center directors and URM program administration, the coordinator performs office operations concerned with files/filing, scheduling, and assisting clinical staff. The coordinator also does outreach to URM residents and staff to increase awareness of Counseling Center services and programs.CORE WORK PRINCIPLE:Colossians 3:23 is the foundation of URM's standard for employment, Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as though you were working for the Lord and not for people. The goal for each employee is to enrich and sustain a humble heart attitude; to enrich and sustain a mindset of serving others, treating them with kindness and truth; and to enrich and sustain a zealous desire for achieving work objectives without any ulterior motives or agendas.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Schedules clients, initiates forms and paperwork for new clients, obtains needed signatures from clients, and handles confidential files according to HIPAA regulations.Completes HIPAA compliance training as required for a psychological services center.Coordinates with the center directors to provide administrative support in assigning clients to therapists.Schedules counseling rooms for intern therapists, assists intern therapists with basic office needs and procedures.Coordinates communication of messages received from telephone, email, and paper copy for intern therapists and Pepperdine program supervisors and directors.Compiles statistics and prepares summary reports for accurate reporting to Counseling Center directors and URM program administration to support program goals.Maintains office in an organized and professional manner.Coordinates office functions for computer use, fax use, etc.Contacts security to assist with escorting clients to/from the Counseling Center, as needed.Carries out all responsibilities in an honest, ethical, and professional manner.Meets regularly with Counseling Center directors.Helps establish and maintain a welcoming, positive, and supportive environment in the center.Carry out other tasks and projects as assigned by the Director of Men's Ministry.Commitment to URM mission, vision, and core values.Encourage guests of their faith and growth in Jesus Christ.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: In general, the following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requirements:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURES:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Minimum of 1 year experience, preferably working in the realm of health care.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats.Proficiency in Microsoft office programs.Calm, consistent, and flexible disposition to work with clients who are often in recovery from trauma, addiction, and/or mental disorders and can pose complex challenges.Ability to keep client confidentiality and not disclose any client information to others.Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a plus.Required Hours:Mondays and Fridays, 8:00 AM to 2:30 PMTuesdays and Thursdays, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PMPI160767261
