Job Summary:Vantage Point is looking for a Cost Accountant for 3-to-6-month contract to assess business expenses and prepare optimized budget plans for the Company. The Cost Accountant will play a critical role in establishing standard costs.Travel to our facilities in Redding, CA may be needed. "Satya", which is named after the Sanskrit word for "truth", was founded with the intention of bringing truth, transparency, and institutional sophistication to the nascent cannabis industry.Since its inception, Vantage Point has built several successful cannabis companies, including a fully vertically integrated operations in CA and CA's most popular cannabis flower brand, A Golden State, and a leading effects-based flower band called PHASES.Responsibilities:Collect and analyze data about the Company's operational costsReview supply chain and materials pricing, labor costs, shipping discounts, and quarterly sales records for each department of the corporationCollect and analyze data about the Company's operational costsAudit the inventory in each regional warehouse every year by reviewing the contents and recording details about the numbers of each product in stockDevelop, analyze, and set cost standardsMeet with production and manufacturing managers throughout the Company to discuss new strategies to improve efficiencyEstablish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.Carry out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysisDesign and implement cost accounting systemsTracking budgeting and costsReviewing costs for inaccuraciesEstimate new product costs, including the opportunity cost of production spaceAdvise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial dataRecommend changes to the Company's processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profitQualifications:Experience in manufacturing; Agriculture & Cannabis industry a plusWillingness to travelMinimum of a Bachelor's Degree in AccountingMinimum of 5 years of experience as a Cost AccountantStrong understanding of accounting principlesExperience with accounting softwareStrong math skillsExcellent organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsHighly developed attention to detailAbility to work independentlyStrong time management skillsExcellent analytical skills
