The candidate will manage the daily accounting department activities to ensure that financial and operating reports are timely and accurately reflected.Why join us?-Expects continued rapid growth in core business of originating, holding, and servicing commercial real estate loans.Competitive compensation and benefits as well.Job Details-The candidate will be involved in all accounting aspects of commercial real estate loan origination and underwriting business.Responsibilities include:Process financial transactions, cash receipts, wire transfers and journal entriesReconcile bank accounts and resolve any differences in a timely mannerPerform month end close including reconciling general ledger accounts to supporting schedulesReview fund management fee and waterfall calculationsLiaise with third party fund administrators to prepare capital calls and distribution notices to investorsPrepare the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedulesCompile monthly fund level performance metrics for management analysis and discussionAssist with management to prepare the quarterly investor letterInteract with asset management and originations team on loan closings and draw requests, including liaising with external loan servicerWork with management to refine internal processes to help increase efficiencies, reduce possibility of operational errors and grow the businessContribute to evaluating new software platforms and modulesCoordinate the annual financial audit and tax return filings, including providing support to third party service providers as requestedAd hoc projects and assignments as directed by VP of AccountingQualifications:Minimum of a 4 year degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree beneficial.Minimum of a 3 5 years prior public accounting/fund accounting experienceUnderstanding of real estate fundamentals, transactions, and closings a plusStrong verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills.Working knowledge in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Experience in Netsuite, Yardi, MRI or comparable accounting softwareDesire to be a member of a close knit team of professionals who work in a collaborative environment.High level of initiative and strong work ethic.Outstanding organization, prioritization and keen attention to detail.Interested in hearing more?
