Description: What you'll be doing:
Here's a little about UCLA Anderson School of Management and the position they are recruiting for: - -The UCLA Anderson School of Management is the graduate business school at the University of California, Los Angeles, one of eleven professional schools. -At UCLA Anderson, success is a collective victory, channeled by collaboration, mentorships and generosity. Our rigorous programs offer a cooperative and congenial student culture, our faculty offer invaluable guidance, and our alumni provide access to a thriving business community, as well as support services for scholastic and career advancement. - -Position Description: -Under general supervision of the Finance Manager: - -Develop, prepare, and analyze comprehensive and complex financial reports for assigned programmatic, administrative, and operational areas. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual budget v. actual reports to Anderson Executive Directors, Directors, and Senior Level Management. Analyze current and historical data to produce ad-hoc financial reports for the Finance Manager. - -Provide overall fund management for assigned fund portfolios by analyzing and reviewing revenue and expenditures. Process financial transactions for the school utilizing the campus approved systems. Communicate concerns and issues to the appropriate Anderson Units and Management, and facilitate resolution of outstanding issues. Exercise independent initiative; provide advice on guidelines, fund restrictions, UC policies. Act as liaison between the Anderson School and central campus departments. Assist, train, and guide the Fund Management team on fund usage in accordance with UC Policies and generally accepted accounting principles. Act as back-up to the Fund Management team, as needed. - -Perform reconciliations of various activities, processes and P accounts. Using the proper accounting treatment, prepare journal entries to record adjustments on resolved items. Work with departments to resolve outstanding reconciling factors. Assist with month-end and fiscal year-end closing processes. - -Process map Anderson core business operations to understand and streamline workflow. Modify existing processes that adapt to technological advances. Complete special projects as assigned by Finance Manager, Director of Finance and CFO. - -Requirements: -Demonstrated organizational skills to work independently and to prioritize multiple assignments to complete work in a timely manner amidst frequent interruptions, competing deadlines, and a heavy workload. - -Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting principles theory sufficient to make the correct budget and financial journals to achieve desired results. - -Demonstrated working knowledge of Fund Accounting and ability to review the General Ledger, input documents, and recognize errors. - -Demonstrated ability to prepare financial reports for a large complex organization in accordance with policies and accounting principles. - -Three to five years of professional accounting experience or equivalent - -Skill in analyzing information, problems, practices, or procedures to: - -Identify the problem or objectives. - -Identify patterns, tendencies, trends, and relationships. - -Formulate logical and objective conclusions. - -Recognize alternatives and their implications. - -Ability to keep abreast of changing external regulations and University policies - - -Another Source works with their clients, on a retained project basis, to maximize the recruiting process. - We are committed to building inclusive candidate pools as we partner with hiring teams.
