Job Description:

Our client is a preeminent, global, consumer goods company, focused on health and wellness products. The company is growing dramatically and as a result, they are adding to their finance/accounting leadership team.
The Controller will oversee the Americas Accounting function, as well as the global shared services function. The Controller will act as a business partner throughout the organization, in particular, to Sales and Operations for all reporting, analysis and operational needs.

We are looking for a builder, a leader, a mentor who will partner with the Chief Accounting Officer to build best in class teams and processes capable of supporting the organizations rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities General Accounting/Reporting:-- Oversee the activities of the Americas Accounting Department for the accurate and timely monthly close and the preparation of financial statements, as well as all day-to-day accounting activities.-- Oversee shared services, including Accounts Receivable and Collections, including interaction with the Sales departments, Accounts Payable, Purchasing and the implementation of a requisition/PO process for non-inventory purchases.-- Partner with all operating and corporate groups to support their needs for transaction accounting, reporting and analysis.-- Prepare any relevant technical papers on accounting research and company position papers.-- Assist with external audit, quarterly reviews, SOX, and interface with auditors on all requests.
Policies and Procedures:-- Evaluate, develop, and oversee policies and procedures consistent with the Company's financial objectives with an eye to ensuring support of long-term growth strategies.-- Develop strong system of internal processes and control and provide implementation advice for approved changes and additions to processes and procedures to improve internal controls.
Process Improvement:-- Partner in the mapping of procedures/improvements in process to speed up the accounting close and implement changes and develop new suggestions for improving organizational structure and ongoing operating processes where appropriate.-- Assess current practices and participate in initiatives to enhance the Company's utilization of NetSuite.-- Evaluate financial and operational process changes to improve profitability.
Team Leadership/Staff Management:-- Develop, establish and maintain an effective organizational structure and staffing plan to meet internal "client" needs and company goals.-- Hiring and managing a growing team of 20+ accounting professionals. Evaluate all staff positions for improvement and growth.-- Provide leadership and mentoring to staff to further the creation of a "learning community" and an organization that seeks excellence.
Business Partner:-- Work closely with NA Sales and Operations leadership to support growth and an expanding product set; ensure proper accounting for new products and services.-- Provide timely reporting and analysis to management and Corporate FP&A group, including variance analysis, forecasting and planning support and timely reporting of metrics and financial data.-- Assist in the development of dashboard and flash reporting to management.
Essential Skills-- 15+ years of professional experience ideally gained through a combination of public accounting and industry accounting experience.-- Experience in relevant industries, which can include CPG, eCommerce, distribution, or manufacturing.-- Experience in a company with $400M+ in revenue, and experience in supporting a company through a period of rapid growth/expansion.-- Significant experience with General Ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and collections, accounts payable, payroll and purchasing, management reporting and staff management in a medium to large sized complex international organization.-- Experience implementing, upgrading, or improving the utilization of ERP packages.-- Ability to think strategically and act tactically, working effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization, articulating an understanding of the business through the numbers.-- Experience enhancing performance and identifying improvement opportunities.-- Proven accounting knowledge of standards, processes, reporting and systems; and experience in developing and improving reporting.-- Willing to "role up his/her sleeves", operate at any level (from senior management to the lowest level of the organization), and do whatever it takes to ensure the successful execution and growth of the business.-- CPA is strongly preferred.
