Sr. Accountant, Expense Management

Job Description:


The position is responsible for accurately handling the day-to-day accounting processes in support of our Expense Governance team during the monthly and quarterly close and reporting processes. The position will record, and reconcile the related transactions, investigate, and resolve issues, and perform analysis that is used in the compilation of our financial reports. In addition, the person in this position will be expected to assist in the automation of the key reporting processes.

The candidate for this role is expected to have good knowledge of accounting concepts and drive to develop enhancements and efficiencies through automation of the processes.


Candidates responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assist with the monthly financial close and reporting process and will be responsible for recording of journal entries including:
    • Standard general ledger entries
    • Recording of unique transactions
    • Variance analysis and explanations.
    • Prepare prepaids and other liabilities related schedules in support of monthly financial statements.
    • Complete monthly reconciliations for all assigned balance sheet accounts.
    • Prepare of other assets, other liabilities, prepaid related schedules as needed for external audit and reporting purposes.
    • Preparation of detailed flux analyses detailing month-over-month and actual versus actuals, and actual versus budget.
    • Evaluate current internal accounting and reporting process for potential improvements through automation and implement enhancements.
    • Assist with ad hoc accounting/finance projects as needed.
      • A minimum of five years in general accounting and month end close type function. Four-year bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
      • Strong experience using Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, etc.)
      • Problem solving and analytical skills
      • Ability to meet strict deadlines
      • Extreme attention to details
      • Ability to prioritize multiple functions and work with limited supervision
      • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
      • Must be able to work well and collaborate with internal and external partners
      • Positive attitude and ability to adapt to change.
      • Time & schedule flexibility.
      • Desire to take initiative and actively contribute to the team and company.
      • Fluent in verbal and written English.
      • Certified public accountant (CPA) or equivalent preferred.
