Job Description:

Software Engineering Manager (The Boston Consulting Group, Inc.-Manhattan Beach, CA): Manage a Quality Assurance (QA) team and oversee the build, delivery, and maintenance of software solutions/products. Specific duties include: serve as technical owner of the product managing the day-to-day activities, performance and overall delivery of a cross-functional or specialized team; responsible for team utilization and commitments to business; plan, develop, implement and support software products ensuring alignment with broader processes and visibility to management; work closely with product management teams to ensure development alignment with business requirements and provide visibility into delivery progress to stakeholders; research emerging technologies and work on technical applicability from team's perspective, and drive necessary adoption initiatives; coach team members about new industry trends, best practices and provides guidance in career advancement functionally and technically; spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new products and improved processes; responsible for carrying out technical, security, risk analysis and reliability assessments to ensure quality of product development; oversee security measures, quality and delivery of the product development; and manage software products teams and participate in onboarding, performance reviews, employee learning and development, and career progression. Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eight (8) years of experience in performing software quality assurance and testing, including at least three (3) years leading or managing the development of software products and developing software solutions to complex technical problems. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section unless otherwise stated): managing QA engineering team of at least 2 other engineers; identifying and quantifying optimization opportunities with data; collaborating with multiple disciplines, including product development, design, business, and other stakeholders; working in an agile environment managing rapid iterations and changing priorities within a tight deadline; aligning business requirements with product development roadmap; and applying best practices to product planning, development, implementation, and support. Must also possess the following: Eight (8) years of experience using Atlassian Jira project management system; Five (5) years of experience using Postman API testing system; Three (3) years of experience using Cypress.io testing automation system, Apache JMeter performance testing system; Sonarqube static code analyzer, Docker container system, and Gitlab and its continuous integration and continuous development (CD/CI) system; and Two (2) years of experience using Zephyr test case management system, Kubernetes container orchestration system, and Microsoft Azure cloud environment.
